#24 Penn St. struggles early in Happy Valley, pulls away late 35-17 over #19 Illinois

Evan Royster was a game time decision and Coach Paterno decided to rest his star RB and go with Stephon Green and true frosh Silas Redd. That decision did not start out well as the running game struggled and the offense suffered as it had to settle for fg's on 3 str8 possessions after the defense forced 3 1stQ Illini to's. Unable to capitalize PSU fell behind 17-9 and limped into the half. After a spirited halftime speech from JoePa the Nittany Lions roared back and scored 26 unanswered pts. on their way to the 35-17 victory over Big Ten rival and early season surprise #19 Illinois.
