CFF 2012 Season Discussion Thread Empty Re: CFF 2012 Season Discussion Thread

Post  jhawk886 Sun Jan 16, 2011 10:51 pm

Regarding the 9 minute quarters; I just typed all of this and somehow closed my browser so I'm gonna make it short. (Any further questions of comments feel free to provide input)

Two things:

1) I want to create more possessions, fewer drives resulting in scores. Most drives do not result in scores in real life and I think we need to model that. Having 1 or 2 punts a game is fairly regular in here and very rare in real life. I bumped up the CPU defense a bit to help force us to punt more often. (I hurt their running game a bit more to compensate).

2) Due to a recent user game, I realized that we need the extra time. A very long drive with a lot of plays should consume most of a quarter, but not as much as it currently does.

We have all played pud teams to start out with. Once we play some harder teams we should start seeing stats coming down. We shouldn't have to worry too much about outrageous statistical numbers. If it is still a problem after the next couple of weeks however, we can decide what we want to do.

Feel free to provide any comments or ask any questions.

Stop I'm really looking forward to this Florida/Florida state rivalry. I expect it to be very back and forth. It'll be like the 90s all over again. Of course it will be much more civilized since jimbo and muschamp own a condo together

Yeah I looked at the week 2 update and was like "who the Firetruck is Florida ???" then I saw it was u taking over the gators. Should be a lot like our old uga/uf battles but hopefully I can win one or two against u this time. At least we're not in the same division of the same conference so that makes the rivalry a little more lighthearted- at least until one of us stops the other from going to the national championship! Really looking forward to some heart pounding battles.

Yeah, pretty much all thFlorida/Georgia battles were intense. Now Texas, you just whooped my ass. Hopefully I can get some revenge this year. And hopefully we will have a lot on
the line when Florida and fsu meet each year.

FSU hangs on to beat UVA 28-21

Tallahassee, FL -- Bert Reed does it again catching the game winning TD on 3rd and long in the 4th quarter. Reed tallied 8 catches for 225 yards and 3 TDs leading the Seminoles to a comeback victory over the Virginia Cavaliers. Chris Thompson added 117 yards on the ground but lost 2 costly fumbles. QB EJ Manuel was 20-38 for 378 yards with 3 TDs and 2 Picks as the turnover woes continued for the #19 ranked 'Noles.

FSU jumped out to a 6-0 lead on 2 field goals after their early possessions stalled deep in Cavalier territory. UVA responded with two touchdowns in the 2nd quarter to take the lead but not before Bert Reed took a short pass and darted 47 yards to paydirt. EJ Manuel found Chris Thompson for the 2pt conversion and the score was tied at halftime.

Reed struck again to set off the third quarter but UVA was able to respond to tie the game going into the fourth quarter. EJ Manuel led a long drive that ended with yet another Reed TD and the FSU D was able to shut down the Cavaliers the rest of the way.

The Seminoles will travel to Boston next week to take on the Golden Eagles as they continue conference play.

Oh man. I just suffered my first cpu loss in this dyn. A heartbreaker I had a number of recruits in attendance and boy...my season just room a big hit. I planned in stop beatig me but I fiured one loss might get me into bcs title but now...ih man. It was a really good game and I blew it. In the fourtht I pitched the ball sfraigt to a defender and he went six with it. Crappy way to lose. Gotta sleep this one off.

Sorry man. Clark switching to Miami and Urban picking up Florida definitely added a significant amount of difficulty to your schedule. Although, last year you struggled a lot more with the CPU than you did with users, so maybe this is a good thing lol. Plus, if you somehow manage to win them all, that's 4 extra schollys.
